Golden State Warriors co-executive chairman Peter Guber is putting his 2015 NBA championship ring up for auction as part of a fundraising effort in partnership with Fanatics.

The starting bid was $50,000.00 and it's now at $65,000.00:

“I know how much need there is in this country,” Guber said in announcing the auction. “And how many people are suffering. And people I know. That's why it's important to me. Friends, business associates and people I don't know, that I know their pain. And I want to help them.”

100 percent of the money raised through this auction will go directly to Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.

The Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 Finals in six games to capture the first title of the Stephen Curry era. The Dubs wound up winning three rings in five years.

The Warriors' 2015 ring has 16 princess cut-stones on the side, representing the number of playoff wins needed to win it all. The Dubs ring was the first championship ring with a twist-off and reversible top. It's made of 14-karat gold and contains more than six carats of diamonds and sapphires.

The 2019-20 Warriors had the worst record in the NBA before the season was suspended. However, the team should be playoff contenders again whenever the 2020-21 season starts since Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will suit up together.
