For Monday's upcoming contest against the lowly Phoenix Suns, the Golden State Warriors (43-13) will be without the services of star forward Draymond Green after he was officially ruled out tonight.
According to a tweet from Warriors beat reporter Mark Medina of The Mercury News, Green will not be able to play in tonight's game against the Suns (18-39) at Oracle Arena because of a sprained left index finger that he suffered during Saturday night's 122-105 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Hopefully, this injury will not keep Green out for any more games than just tonight's contest.
Article Continues BelowThis will certainly be a noticeable blow to the Warriors, regardless of who they are playing, considering Green is easily one of the best (if not the best) defenders in the entire NBA. Green's resume simply speaks for itself, as he was named the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, is a three-time NBA All-Defensive First-Team member, and has been selected to the All-Star Game for three years in a row.
In 49 starts this season for Golden State, Green is having yet another very productive season by averaging 11.3 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field, 7.9 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.4 blocked shots and 1.2 steals per game in roughly 32.6 minutes of action per contest.
Despite the Warriors and Suns playing in the Pacific Division together, this will be just the first of four times the two teams have played each other all season. Last season, Golden State won all four of the meetings against Phoenix and scored at least 120 points in three of those games.
