Golden State Warriors big man Kevon Looney revealed he is “95 percent” sure to play in his team's season-opening tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After re-signing with the franchise in the offseason to the tune of a three-year, $15 million contract, the 23-year-old power forward-center missed the Warriors' preseason with a hamstring injury. Looney could be a stable force in the frontcourt for a Golden State team that underwent major changes over the summer.

After Tuesday night's opening festivities including a skirmish between the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers, the Clips will travel to San Francisco to take on the Warriors. It will be Golden State's first regular-season game in the Chase Center, their new arena after moving across the bay from Oakland's Oracle Arena.

Last season, Looney was mainly used off the bench, with the former first-round pick averaging a career-best 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game. Looney shot 62.5 percent from the field in 80 regular-season games during the 2018-19 season.

Joining Looney in the frontcourt is Omari Spellman, who was acquired by the Warriors in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks this offseason.

At the moment, barring any setbacks, it looks like Looney will be able to suit up for the Warriors on Thursday in the first game of a new era.
