Though the NBA Finals is garnering pretty much all of the headlines and attention for basketball fans right now, there was no Finals game scheduled on Tuesday night for basketball fans to imbibe, so Quinn Cook of the Golden State Warriors had some free time in hand.

However, for the true diehards out there that have a long list of their favorite players as well as a lengthy list of their favorite writers, podcasters, and journalists, there was an actual game to be played on Tuesday night.

That’s right, the Metro Media Jam, sponsored by T-Mobile, featured a collection of a whopping 8 teams of journalists and basketball personalities/writers in a tournament to decide who is the best actual hooper of them all.

This is a hilarious premise, and Cook seemed to agree, as he came out to watch Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports (and laugh a little bit about the entire premise of the event).

Many notable basketball writers and personalities were present, such as Ethan Sherwood-Strauss of The Athletic, Nate Duncan of the Dunc’d on Basketball Podcast, John Schuhmann of NBA.com, Tim Bontemps of ESPN, Sam Amick of The Athletic, Tom Haberstroh of NBC Sports and many more.

Though Cook found the event rather amusing, so did one of its participants, Mo Dakhil of The Jump Ball and the Washington Post:

Let’s hope not all of the participants need those aids, and good luck to all involved!
