Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry told reporters on Monday he's had contract extension talks with the franchise.
Curry is set to make $43,006,362 in 2020-21. He can become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason of 2022.
Curry on extension: "It's just understanding what the landscape is and what the situation is going into the future. We want to be competitive, we want to be in a situation where we're competing for champions every single year. I want to be a part of it." https://t.co/L8x4BHeSCg

In the summer of 2017, Stephen Curry signed a five-year, $201.2 million contract with the Warriors. Sure enough, the two-time MVP and three-time champion wants to spend his entire career in Golden State.

Since getting drafted by the Warriors in 2009 with the seventh overall pick, Curry has compiled averages of 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists in the regular season. The six-time All-Star has established himself as the greatest shooter in NBA history and could go down as the best player in Golden State franchise history when it's all said and done.
Curry only played in five games last season. He broke his left hand in the fourth game against the Phoenix Suns and needed two surgeries. Curry appeared in one game after being cleared to play before the season was suspended in March due to COVID-19. The Warriors finished the campaign with the worst record in the NBA.
Dubs general manager Bob Myers drafted James Wiseman out of Memphis with the second overall pick in the 2020 draft. He also acquired Kelly Oubre Jr. from the Oklahoma City Thunder after Klay Thompson tore his right Achilles in Los Angeles during a pick-up game.
The Warriors, who are eager to get back to the playoffs this season, will likely start Curry, Oubre Jr., Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Wiseman.
