To absolutely no one's surprise, the Golden State Warriors will once again be returning to the postseason as one of the Western Conference's top teams. However, the heralded Warriors seemed to dodge a serious bullet on Tuesday evening against the New Orleans Pelicans as All-Star point guard Stephen Curry exited the Western Conference showdown due to a right foot injury.

According to an official statement released by the franchise, Curry will not return to action on Tuesday evening against the Pelicans as a result of what has since been diagnosed as a “mild right foot sprain.”

Leaving during the first half of the mid-week contest, Curry made his departure after scoring just five points in only nine minutes of action in all. The veteran signal caller also produced one rebound, one assist, one made three-pointer and two turnovers in what ultimately became a brief outing against the Pelicans.

With Curry now officially ruled out for the remainder of his team's Tuesday outing, the Warriors and Pelicans are currently tied at 56 through the first two quarters.

The 31-year-old point guard has notably spent his entire NBA playing career as a member of the heralded Warriors. Originally selected by the Western Conference franchise in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft out of Davidson, Curry has since become a two-time NBA MVP in addition to a three-time NBA Champion and four-time Western Conference Champion.

Entering play on Tuesday evening against the Pelicans, Curry and the Warriors were sporting an impressive 56-24 record in 2018-19.
