Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has recently opened up about a potential stint with Team USA in the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics. According to the former back-to-back MVP winner, he has heard several stories pertaining to the unforgettable experience of being able to take part of the Olympics.
“I know the energy here is going to be amazing,” Curry said, via USA Today. “I haven't played in the Olympics before. I've played in two World Cup teams so I've had the experience of representing my country playing for the national team. But the Olympics, from everybody that I've talked to that's played, there's no comparison to that experience.”
Curry is currently on tour in Japan — the host of the upcoming Olympic Games — and is obviously excited about the prospect of representing his nation for the first time in the Olympics. As he mentioned, he has not been able to partake in this prestigious sporting event, with him having to pull out of the 2018 Rio Olympics due to injuries.

However, to be clear, Curry is not fully committing himself to the cause just yet, as his statement above does leave some room for interpretation. While he speaks highly of the Olympics, he clearly does not state that he will actually be a participant, which may mean that he is still weighing his options.
Team USA remains to be the most dominant team in international competition, and in truth, they will still be the heavy favorites to bring home the gold with or without Curry on board.
