Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry may no longer be the player he used to be, but by and large, he is still the last person any opponent would love to see open for a 3-point shot. Then again, he can hit any shot from anywhere, even with a hand on his face.

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player reminded everyone again why he's widely considered the greatest sniper in basketball history when he sent the Los Angeles Lakers to sleep with a dagger 3-pointer with under a minute left in regulation of Tuesday night's season opener for the Dubs and LA at Crypto.com Arena.

With the Lakers still hanging around and trailing by seven points, Curry knocked down a triple from way behind the 3-point line to virtually take the air out of Los Angeles' fight. Lakers guard Gabe Vincent was right there in front of Curry with his hands up to challenge the shot, but there was only so much he could do to prevent Curry from making that bucket that he's done a million times in his career.

The Warriors also shared a non-broadcast video of Curry's clutch trey, where you can hear the mix of frustration from Lakers fans and awe from Warriors supporters.

Now in his 17th season in the NBA, Stephen Curry put up 23 points on 6-for-14 shooting from the field and 3-for-9 from behind the arc against the Lakers, who simply did not have a quality defense to slow down Golden State's scoring nor the firepower to keep up with the Dubs. Curry also drained all of his eight attempts from the free-throw line, dished out four assists, recorded three steals and grabbed a rebound in 32 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler showed the way for Golden State with his team-high 31 points on the strength of a 16-for-16 performance at the foul line.

Having started the season on a high note, Curry and the Warriors will continue their journey in the 2025-26 NBA campaign this Thursday, when they make their season home debut at Chase Center in San Francisco against the visiting Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets.
