It's now almost three months since his team landed this year's most coveted free agent, Kevin Durant, but Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob still could not believe how his front office pulled it off.

From the number of suitors Durant had, to pitching the idea of possibly not being the first option on offense anymore, to the moves that needed to be done to make the salary cap work, all of these were made possible by the team's executives.

Fresh off their record-breaking season and only two years out of a championship, the Warriors find themselves as title favorites once again with a lineup consisting of four all-stars, with a former Finals MVP coming off the bench. That being said, it makes the 60-year-old one of the most unpopular team owners. But he is well aware of that as he discussed it with CSN Bay Area's Monte Poole:

“I know there are a lot of other owners and teams that are mad at us, at me. I felt that very much when I was in Las Vegas this summer.

“Sorry, we got him. We worked hard until we got him.”

The multi-millionaire's comment was on point as his team only did their part, just like the others did in luring the 2014 MVP away from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It might be the four-time scoring champions's addition to the already-formidable Warriors lineup that caused Lacob to be infamous among his peers, but the harsh reality of the NBA messing up on the cable deals they finalized last year leading to the lack of parity from its teams also did its part in adding fuel to the fire.

If Kevin Durant ended up with another contender, the same treatment could have been expected by its team owner, it just so happened that Joe Lacob of the Warriors is the one to endure it this time.
