Dwyane Wade is a legend in Miami. The three-time NBA champion is worshipped in South Beach and it's at the point where Miamians want to rename Biscayne Boulevard to Dwyane Wade Boulevard. Radio Host Brandon Tobin of 790 The Ticket is calling for the City of Miami to get this done.
Official Proclamation:
Biscayne Blvd is hereby renamed Dwyane Wade Blvd.If Dan Marino has his own road outside of the Dolphins stadium. Wade deserves it outside @AAarena.
Do it now @MiamiDadeCounty #WadeCounty ⚡️ pic.twitter.com/qmQaCR2TjM

This idea started picking up traction as the day went on. Miami Traffic Reporter, Amelia De Vita even reference Dwyane Wade Blvd. in one of her traffic reports.

This idea is obviously very popular among the Miami faithful, but it caught the attention of none other than Dwyane Wade. First, Tobin noted that Dwyane Wade “liked” a tweet promoting the renaming of the street. But DWade didn't stop there.
LET’S MAKE THIS HAPPEN ALREADY @MiamiDadeCounty @CityofMiami @MiamiHEAT!!! #DwyaneWadeBlvd

Wade responded directly to the tweets and expressed his gratitude towards the movement. He lets on that the love is making him emotional as he uses the crying emoji to show that the gesture would make him cry.
So y’all trying to see a grown man 😢 huh https://t.co/oze2BTPoLE

This is a great story out of Miami and it is an example of just how much Heat fans love and appreciate Wade. Miami fans are constantly derided as one of the worst fanbases in the NBA. There's definitely some truth to that statement, but that doesn't diminish the city's love for one of its greatest players.
If anyone in Miami deserves this type of recognition, it's Wade. Of course, Dan Marino is another Miami legend, but he already has a street named after him. It's about time the city of Miami did the same for Wade.
