Though he's no longer with the Pacers, Paul George still has love for fans of the team. In fact, after hearing of Victor Oladipo's injury in Wednesday's game against the Raptors, the Thunder All-Star sent out a sympathetic message to the Indiana faithful.

“I feel for them,” Thunder swingman Paul George told Scott Agnes of The Athletic. “I feel for the fans, the city, the state and for them to have to go through that again.”

George knows a thing or two about recovering from injury. He suffered a broken leg during the 2014-15 offseason while playing with Team USA — an injury that cost him the majority of that season. However, he returned in 2015 to play in all but one game.

“I sent him a text, just to send my wishes, tell him I'm praying for him,” George told IndyStar. “But it is tough. Especially for a team that's playing so well. Vic's playing so well. Him really just holding it down over there in Indiana.”

Oladipo suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of Wednesday's matchup. It was a non-contact injury, which is never a good thing.

As he tried to catch up in transition defense, Oladipo planted his right foot. However, just before he could go up to defend the shot, his knee buckled.

“Dipo,” as he's come to be known, went down in obvious pain and was later taken off the court on a stretcher, as he was unable to walk under his own power. As he was being carted off, the former Indiana Hoosier gave the crowd a wave of appreciation, to which they instantly responded with an ovation.

According to the team's official press release, Oladipo will have an MRI on Thursday. He will need surgery for a ruptured tendon, which will be season-ending.

Losing a player of Oladipo's caliber would be a tough blow for any team to deal with. In his 36 appearances with the Pacers this season, the 26-year-old racked up averages of 18.8 points on 42.3 percent shooting from the field (34.3 percent from beyond the arc), 5.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.7 steals in 31.9 minutes per outing.

With Oladipo ruled out, Tyreke Evans will likely see an uptick in his usage rate. Aaron Holiday and Corey Joseph will also see an increased workload.
