The Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to move some of their assets in orders to free up even more cap space for this upcoming offseason, but despite head coach Luke Walton having to shuffle his personnel at power forward, young Julius Randle looks like is staying put throughout this trade deadline.

“There is a growing sense that the Lakers could hold on to Julius Randle through the deadline. Teams’ awareness that the Lakers need to move Randle to clear the cap space to make a run at the top free agents this summer has diminished the market significantly.”
A trade is only feasible when two teams are in close planes, but when a team has clear intentions on making something happen, it's much more likely others in the trade market will be less willing to acquiesce to their conditions.
Article Continues BelowThis is one of the same reasons Cleveland has had such a tough time trading assets, in a way — as not only are they urgently trying to shed salary from being so high up in the luxury tax, but other front offices consider the deals given to their players a reckless signing, given their massive bill and poor performance.
Randle has played brilliantly as of late, and while his contract is quite team-friendly at only $4.15 million this season, his status as a restricted free agent next season is a deterrent in this case, unable to know where he will go after the season is over with.
