Despite all the shooting woes he’s experiencing since the start of his pro career, Lonzo Ball continues to receive a lot of support from his family, teammates, and coaches. That includes Luke Walton, who has not lost his confidence on the 20-year-old rookie and still gives him the same amount of playing time to help him become better in the future.
The two showed their respect for one another recently, as Ball made it known during an interview with reporters that he thinks of his head coach as a “great” one. Walton overheard his high praise for him and gave a hilarious response, according to ClutchPoints’ own Ryan Ward.

The comments they both made can be considered simple ones, but it definitely shows how good their relationship is on and off the court. With all the expectations on Ball’s shoulders, the second-year head coach is serving as a guide and mentor to him and preparing him to have a successful career.
If there’s any silver lining even with the struggles Ball is having from making shots, the Lakers are not showing any signs of changing their plans for his development. His utmost respect for Walton also helps his cause, as he thinks highly of him and they obviously want each other to succeed.
