The moves being done to maneuver a team’s salary cap situation may be managed by their front office personnel, but it could also affect the entire organization, including their players. That is apparently the case with the Los Angeles Lakers which Luke Walton recently acknowledged.
The second-year head coach added, via Bill Oram of the SoCal News Group, that it could even serve as a distraction to them, as claimed by Andrew Bogut. He then said that if that's the case, the team may not play at their best knowing that they do not have control over what can happen to the composition of the lineup.
Luke Walton acknowledged Bogut’s feeling that salary cap is a locker room distraction: “The outside influence or trade deals or whatever’s going on in the media … is a very real distraction.”

Walton added that players “don’t have control over how that plays out” and worrying about it “is only going to hurt your own game.”

It is no secret that the Lakers may look to make some moves in order to place them in the best possible position to make a splash in next summer's free agency. It could mean that some of their current players may be moved, which could have a big impact to the team.
It remains to be seen if that will hold true or not, but the Los Angeles faithful are left to hope that it will not dampen the spirits of the Lakers players. If that will be the case, they could live up to expectations and finally end their rebuilding process by making the playoffs, which has been their goal even before the season started.
