People are sounding the bust alarm again Sunday when Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball shot 0-for-4 from the floor and finished with just two points and three blocks in a 118-95 lopsided loss at home against the Houston Rockets.

It was the Lakers’ fifth-straight loss and also Ball’s second game in his young NBA career in which he failed to make a single basket from the field, as he went 0-for-4 from the floor against the Rockets. Earlier this month, Ball was 0-for-2 in a Nov. 2 113-110 road loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lonzo Ball, however, was pulled from the game after just playing 22 minutes. Lakers head coach Luke Walton sat his starting point guard for the final 16 minutes of the contest, which was probably a decision he was forced to make to keep the rookie from aggravating what was previously reported as a left calf tightness. Walton also noted Ball’s lack of aggression in the game likely due to the said injury, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

That said, Lonzo Ball was able to play for 33 minutes under the same circumstance last Saturday, scoring nine points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out five assists to go with two steals in a 115-100 loss to the Denver Nuggets, indicating that he was ready to go against the Rockets.

The Lakers' starting point guard, however, has three full days of rest ahead of him to heal from his calf ailment. Los Angeles won’t play until Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.
