Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis finally made his long-awaited return in their game against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. It's safe to say that Andre Drummond was extremely excited for this day to come. The way he gushed about sharing the court with The Brow as teammates for the first time in the NBA suggested he felt like a kid in a candy store.

Andre Drummond says having AD out there "freed up" the "best rebounder in the NBA" to crash the glass.

The newest Laker has had a taste of being on the same side as Davis, as he alluded to them playing together with Team USA. In the NBA, however, Drummond has had to deal with the 8-time All-Star's wrath through the first nine years of his career.
As Drummond said, Davis definitely helps open up things for him, especially as he focuses on crashing the glass. The attention he attracts on offense makes it easier for the 6-foot-10 center to do what he does best, and that's retrieve offensive rebounds. In the same way, Davis' versatility and IQ on the defensive end also aids Drummond in gobbling up those defensive boards.
Davis only saw limited action, playing just 16 minutes in the first half. The Lakers are understandably exercising caution with the NBA champion's workload. That will likely continue for the next couple of weeks as he eases himself back, especially after missing so much time due to a calf strain.
In his return to the floor, Davis finished with four points and four rebounds on 2-of-10 shooting. The best news for Laker Nation is that AD is finally back and healthy.
