LeBron James recently lauded Anthony Davis after “The Brow” put up 37 points and 13 rebounds in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.

It was a brief moment of blunt truth in a relationship that has been full of humor and pranks.

Davis and LeBron have cracked with one another throughout the year, including LeBron joking he would not take AD with his first selection in the All-Star Draft.

But Davis also likes to keep things light. He recently sat down with longtime NBA point guard Steve Nash, joking about LeBron being in Year 17 and not having the same kind of explosion anymore.

Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka probably could not have envisioned this tandem working out so swimmingly, both on and off the court.

Yes, LeBron tried his hardest to push the Lakers to acquire Davis this past season. He has long stated his desire to play with one of the game's most dominant two-way bigs.

But their chemistry has still exceeded expectations.

From the start, LeBron insisted Davis would have the lion's share of offensive opportunities. Yet do in part to Davis' ability to stretch the floor and grab offensive rebounds, both players have been efficient scorers.

Davis leads the Lakers at 26.6 points per game while also averaging 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. Meanwhile, LeBron–who still has plenty of explosion, by the way–is averaging 25.4 points, and he leads the NBA at 10.7 assists per game.

As a result, the Lakers are firing all cylinders. They have won nine of their last ten, opening up a five-and-a-half game lead for the top seed in the Western Conference,

All fun and games in Hollywood, at least until playoff time.
