Austin Reaves has emerged as a new cult favorite among Los Angeles Lakers supporters. The 23-year-old rookie isn't exactly a star, but the energy he brings whenever he takes the floor has LA fans raving about this young man.

Reaves recently had a rather bizarre encounter with a Lakers supporter who asked him to sign his autograph on a rice cooker. Yes, a rice cooker. This is eerily reminiscent to Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson once putting his John Hancock on a toaster (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

Reaves looked a bit confused when he was asked to sign the piece of electrical appliance but being the good sport that he is, the Lakers guard gladly obliged. He even had to get a different pen to make sure that his signature would be visible.

For what it's worth, after Thompson did something similar a few years back, the Warriors went on a furious run. The tale of the toaster became a bit of an urban legend as the Dubs would go on to win the title that season.

Could Austin Reaves signing a rice cooker be the event that bizarrely kickstarts LA's turnaround this season? We've seen crazier things in the past and at this point, the Lakers are pretty desperate for a prodigious turn of events.
