Friday marked a special occasion for Los Angeles Lakers teammates Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. On this same day 18 years ago, the pair both made NBA debuts for their respective teams, and for those who were lucky enough to witness that moment, it was clear that it was going to be a significant part of the league's history.

Melo recently came across a post celebrating his debut with the Denver Nuggets alongside that of LeBron for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anthony just had to retweet the photo as he included a simple yet powerful two-word shoutout in the caption:

It's amazing to think how the careers of these two legends have come full circle now that they're teammates with the Lakers. Anthony and James' careers have run parallel to each other for nearly two decades and now, for the first time ever, they're playing on the same team.

Melo and LeBron will need to set the nostalgia aside for now, however, with LA struggling mightily to start the season. Following Wednesday's embarrassing loss to a previously winless Oklahoma City Thunder side, the 2-3 Lakers will need to bounce back against the Cavs on Friday. It's not exactly a must-win situation for LeBron and Co., but another defeat against an underdog Cleveland side will definitely spell more trouble for the Purple and Gold.
