Danny Green knows his role with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he believes his partnership with LeBron James and Anthony Davis is a match made in basketball heaven.
Green signed a two-year, $30 million deal with the Lakers this offseason, bringing in his deadly 3-point shooting and championship experience to the Purple and Gold franchise that has title aspirations. He is coming off an epic title run with the Toronto Raptors, playing a key role as the Canadian team put an end to the Golden State Warriors' dynasty.
Now with the Lakers, Green understands what he needs to do to help the Lakers. And he can't help but be excited as he pairs up with LeBron and AD.

“I think I’m going to fit perfectly fine alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis,” Green said, per Christian Rivas of Silver Screen & Roll. “Those guys are very good. They’re superstars at attacking and getting to the basket and pretty much doing everything. A lot of teams try to double-team them, and if you have floor space, it’s harder to double-team, so my job is really to play defense, space the floor and make it easier for them to operate one-on-one”
The 31-year-old Green produced his best shooting year with the Raptors in 2018-19, making 46.5 percent of his field goal attempts and 45.5 percent of his 3-pointers.
The Lakers will surely need that shooting on a roster that seems to lack long-range bombing, so Green’s fit on the team does, indeed, seem to be perfect.
