The Los Angeles Lakers are clicking on all cylinders right now and are riding the high of a five-game winning streak since losing their opening game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Aside from the prolific play of the team’s new deadly one-two punch of Anthony Davis and LeBron James,  the Lakers’ early success can also be attributed to the much improved play of their reserves.

One of the key players from the team’s bench mob is the rejuvenated Dwight Howard, who is certainly making the most out of his second stint with the storied franchise.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year coined a nickname for the Lakers’ formidable second unit, per Kyle Goon of Southern California News Group.

“The Bad News Bears. Not the Bad News Bears in a bad way, but ‘we're gonna bring bad news to the other team.' That type of bad news,” Howard said.

Howard’s preferred nickname is a reference to the popular 1976 sports comedy film by Michael Ritchie about a rag-and-tag baseball team.

Although not as dominating as he once was during his early Orlando Magic years, the now 33-year-old Howard has been one of LA’s most valuable offseason pick-ups.

The eight-time All-Star was a late addition to the team after center DeMarcus Cousins tore his ACL during a workout.

Howard currently leads all bench players in rebounds (8.17) and blocks (2.33). He’s also ranked fourth in overall efficiency among reserves (16.83), trailing Clippers forward Montrezl Harell (20.83), Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose (19.33), and New Orleans Pelicans forward Josh Hart (17.33).
