Ask any NBA fan to name five role players who are exciting to watch in the league and almost every single one will have Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso on the list. His unique story and superb basketball skills has made him a crowd favorite at Staples Center.
The fans aren't the only ones who are high on Caruso, though. Head coach Frank Vogel has voiced his approval of the Bald Mamba. He even went so far as to say that he'll be putting the combo guard on the floor more often because he brings so much more to the Lakers besides his electric slams.
Per Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, Vogel gave nothing but the highest of praises to the Texas A&M product before their game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Asked Frank Vogel about Caruso’s minutes of late (he played 11 last game) and Vogel said he talked to Alex Caruso and told him he definitely wants to play him more. Minutes have been harder to come by for several players w/full health, but they’ve missed Caruso’s intangibles.

Alex Caruso is already getting good rotation minutes this season at around 20 minutes per game. His numbers are also decent for a role player with averages of 5.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists on 43.4 percent shooting and 33.9 percent from long range.

His dedication to completing hustle plays is also one thing fans love seeing. Moreover, his athleticism helps him become a great asset on all ends of the game.
The Lakers aren't the only ones thankful that Caruso is wearing Purple and Gold gear. The 6-foot-5 guard himself is also happy that he's getting quality minutes for the Lakers.
Per Silver Screen & Roll's Anthony Irwin:
“I knew there was opportunity,” he said. “Coach Vogel called me when I was pretty close to making a decision and said there’s opportunity for minutes and that’s all I’ve ever needed in my career. And L.A. was the most money that anyone was going to offer me out of the guys I was talking to. And LeBron, A.D. – I knew we were going to be good.”
CaruShow is thriving in La La Land so far, and it doesn't seem like this fairy tale will end any time soon.
