Frank Vogel could be part of the latest drama enfolding the NBA's most glamorous franchise.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in talks with Tyronn Lue to become the franchise's next head coach, and although he hasn't accepted the offer yet, there are reports that the hiring of Lue will be made official within the next couple of days.
Once the Lakers' front office and Lue agree to the terms of the contract, one of the possible assistants he could bring with him is former Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
“If Lue takes the job, Frank Vogel — former coach of the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic — could join his staff as a lead assistant, sources said.”

Vogel had a successful stint with the Indiana Pacers from 2011-2016. He led them to the Eastern Conference Finals back in 2013. His experience in the playoffs will help the Lakers in the long run. With him possibly joining Lue on the sidelines, the Purple and Gold will undoubtedly have a better chance of breaking their postseason drought next year.
Much like Lue, Vogel is familiar with Lakers management; he worked with the franchise as an advance scout from 2005-2006. It makes sense for the team to recruit him.
Of course, nothing is official at the moment, but once Lue decides to sign on the dotted line, his coaching staff will be brought in shortly after.
