When the Los Angeles Lakers announced the hiring of coach Frank Vogel, a lot of people were pessimistic because the consensus was LeBron James never got the coach that he wanted, which was reportedly Tyronn Lue.

However, it seems that LeBron has immediately warmed up to Vogel. The four-time MVP was present during the introductory press conference of his new coach, and he hasn't really said anything bad about him.

When asked by Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix about his relationship with LeBron, Vogel said that it's been pretty good. In fact, he immediately felt the support of the superstar right from the beginning.

“I did feel support right from the start from LeBron,” Vogel said. “He's always shown me a great deal of respect dating back to our battles when I was in Indiana and competing with the Heat in the conference finals, and coaching him in the All-Star Game. He's always shown me a great deal of respect, so I felt like there would be a lot of support, and there was immediately and that's continued on through up to this point. Hopefully we can work together to build something special.”

Throughout his career, LeBron has been known to be a coach killer because whenever his team doesn't get the results that it wants, the one calling the shots from the sidelines is usually the one getting fired. At the end of last season, Luke Walton was relieved off of his duties after just one season of coaching James, and there are speculations that Vogel might not last one season because LeBron wants assistant coach Jason Kidd to lead the team.

Then again, only time will tell if LeBron really likes Vogel or not.
