Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee is all about the team. With that said, the 7-foot-1 shot big man admitted that he doesn't care Dwight Howard is currently getting the bigger share of minutes than he does.
”Well, a year ago, we weren’t winning,” McGee said via Christian Rivas of Silver Screen and Roll. “So it’s your priorities, you know what I’m saying? I want to win. So if that’s what we’ve got to do to win, that’s what we’ve got to do.
”Being in Golden State led to a mindset where I’m not worried about minutes. I’m worried about if these minutes work to win the game, then I’m down for it. If we’re losing and this is happening then it’s a different situation, but you can’t complain about minutes when you’re winning.”
That's great maturity coming from the 31-year old. McGee can't really complain at this point since the Lakers are atop the league standings with a 7-1 record. Winning obviously helps put things into perspective.
Despite starting in all eight games for Los Angeles, McGee only plays 16.3 minutes per game, as opposed to Howard's 20.9 minutes per contest.

McGee started in 62 of his 75 appearances with the Lakers last season and played roughly 22 minutes per game. With a former three-time Defensive Player of the Year and an aging future Hall of Famer in the mix, McGee has seen his role dwindle a bit this season.
Howard has seen a career renaissance with the Lakers after bouncing around lottery teams the past three campaigns. The eight-time All-Star is having fun playing basketball again, and it shows with his play on the court.
