Los Angeles Lakers small forward Kyle Kuzma says LeBron James has been “super motivated this offseason” after hearing his name consistently slandered.
After missing the playoffs for the first time since his second year in the league in 2018-19 with the Lakers, James has been getting killed by the media more than usual this summer. For the first time in over a decade, LeBron isn't universally recognized as the best player in the game anymore. Some believe Kawhi Leonard has taken over that throne from The King.
Kyle Kuzma says LeBron James has been working out during the mornings and evenings and is expecting the four-time MVP to go crazy next season for the Lakers.
“This offseason, you see just, people slandering his name and saying this about him, saying that,” Kuzma told Cari Champion of ESPN. “But you know, he's been super motivated this offseason working, between shooting movies he's in the gym. He's in the gym early, night, whatever. So just being locked in. That's the biggest thing … being ready for it all.”

After having his first summer off in years, James is going to be fresh next season. It wouldn't surprise anyone in the league if LeBron wins his fifth MVP award in 2019-20.
In his first season with the Lakers, James put up spectacular numbers, but since his defense wasn't good and Los Angeles missed the playoffs, LBJ was criticized a lot. LeBron averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists last season. If James doesn't miss those 17 consecutive games, the Lakers probably make the playoffs.
With Anthony Davis by his side, James has the second star to lead the Lakers on a championship run in the rugged Western Conference.
