After Anthony Davis went off for the Los Angeles Lakers against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, Lakers superstar LeBron James took to social media to call out the critics who said LA gave up too much for Davis this past summer.
Davis put up 46 points, 13 rebounds and three steals against the Pelicans. He also shot an impressive 71.4 percent from the field.
The Lakers traded Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and draft picks to the Pelicans for Davis. Some said over the summer it was too much, and LeBron clearly heard those pundits:

In his first season with the Lakers, Davis has been a monster on both ends of the court. He's averaging 27.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 50.9 percent from the field, 30.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Behind Davis and James, the Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference. They are 28-7 and appear on their way to going on a deep playoff run.
Davis can become an unrestricted free agent after this season ends if he declines his 2020-21 player option with the Lakers. While most people around the league expect Davis to decline his option, the prevailing thought is the Chicago native will re-sign with the Lakers on a long-term deal.
