As part of his media availability on Tuesday morning, Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James explained why his kids won't be visiting him inside the NBA's bubble complex in Florida.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced many NBA players to be away from their families for an extended period of time as they play out the remainder of this season. For James, the reason for not having his kids come to the bubble for a visit is simple.

“Why did I decide not to have my kids come here?” Lakers star LeBron James said on Monday. “Because there is nothing for them to do. I mean, I've got a 16-year-old. He's gonna sit in the bubble and do what? I've got a 13-year-old. He's gonna do what? And then my five-year-old girl… there is nothing for her to do here. The park is not open, and there are only so many times she can go to the pool.

“My kids are too adventurous, and they love to do so much stuff. It makes no sense for them to be here,” James added.

Even if James' kids were to pay him a visit inside the bubble, they would have to adhere to the NBA's COVID-19 protocol. And as James said, there may not be much for them to do, aside from watching dad play.

Currently, the Lakers are tied at one game apiece with the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Semifinals. After dropping the first bout, Los Angeles managed to even the series with Sunday's 117-109 victory.

James logged 39 minutes in Game 2, scoring 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field (1-of-5 from beyond the arc), 11 rebounds, nine assists and four steals. Anthony Davis led the charge for the Lakers, racking up 34 points and 10 rebounds.

Game 3 between the Lakers and Rockets is set to tip inside the bubble complex at 9:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday night. TNT will have live broadcast coverage.
