LeBron James has always been a team player. He even said so, tagging himself recently as a pass-first guy. So it didn't come as a surprise that he was fired up after learning the latest feat of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers ended the regular season with the top-ranked defense in the entire NBA. And of course, LeBron was all for it, posting a seven-emoji tweet along with a repost of the Lakers' achievement. It's unclear if he was at a loss for words or he really just likes emojis. We're leaning on the latter.

LeBron and the Lakers have been indeed impressive on the defensive end, straitjacketing opponents to just 106.8 points per outing on 46.0 percent shooting from the field, including 35.2 percent from beyond the arc. The team's length and switchability make it harder for opposing squads to score.

The late-season addition of Andre Drummond was geared to create an even tougher wall with Anthony Davis. Although it hasn't totally worked out yet for the Lakers, their defense will definitely hold in the NBA Playoffs. That is if they come out alive in the play-in tournament, which for sure, LeBron is hellbent on doing.
The defense of the defending champions will get an acid test against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Stephen Curry and company are known for their off-the-ball movements, misdirections, multiple screens, and floor-spreading. So the Lakers will need all the energy they can muster on the defensive end.
If fully engaged, LeBron James is still one of the best defenders in the NBA, and his influence has surely rubbed off on the Lakers. Is there an emoji for that?
