Moments before the 2021-22 Los Angeles Lakers snapped their team photo after practice on Wednesday, LeBron James happened to strike an accidentally telling pose that perfectly encapsulated their season.

You'll notice, LeBron and Anthony Davis were front and almost center of the frame, if not for the Lakers general manager and vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka, with whom the Klutch side has been at odds (the non-player was the one dude holding the basketball).

I happened to press the screengrab buttons at this moment—unaware that LeBron was making a playful pre-snap gesture inches away from the executive he has recently shaded all over the place. Here was the full video (expiring soon), in which LeBron actually smiles when the camera snaps. That said, I am proud of it.

Some other notable tidbits from the photo: Veteran point guard D.J. Augustin and 24-year-old forward Wenyen Gabriel—both of whom signed with the Lakers on Wednesday—were included in the team picture. Davis, who is out for at least four more weeks with a foot sprain, and Kendrick Nunn, who has yet to play a game for the Lakers due to a lingering bone bruise, both dressed in full uniform for the photo.

The Lakers, losers of six of seven and 10 of 13 games, will try to get back on track on Thursday in a “road” game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

LeBron James said he felt like “poop” after the Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

OK, that's all. Keep it moving.
