The Los Angeles Lakers made some big moves in the offseason, and that's still continuing into training camp. It was reported on Friday that LA has added another key addition to their team ahead of what many consider a championship-or-bust campaign for them.

According to NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the Lakers have hired Shay Murphy as a member of Frank Vogel's coaching staff:

As the above report notes, Murphy, 36, is a former WNBA guard. She played for four different teams in the league throughout a career that spanned 10 years. Her most notable stint was with the Phoenix Mercury in 2014, when she won a title playing alongside the great Diana Taurasi. Joining the Lakers is a bit of a homecoming for Murphy, who traces her roots back to LA. Born in Canoga Park, California, Murphy graduated from USC in 2007.

Murphy joins a growing list of fresh faces on Vogel's Lakers coaching staff. Last month, LA brought on David Fizdale and John Lucas III as new assistant coaches, while also hiring Roger Sancho as the team's new head athletic trainer. A few other personnel were also given promotions within the ranks following the departures of assistant coaches Jason Kidd and Lionel Hollins in the offseason.
