The Los Angeles Lakers have finally notched their first win of the season after demolishing the Phoenix Suns 131-113 on Wednesday night. LeBron James was delighted with his team's inaugural victory, and praised big man JaVale McGee, who had a monster game on the evening.

McGee scored a season-best 20 points on the night on 8-of-13 shooting, along with six rebounds, two assists, one steal, four blocks, and zero turnovers in just 26 minutes of action. The 7-footer even added a rare three-pointer to round out an amazing performance in the blowout victory in Phoenix.
McGee has been a beast to start the campaign for his new team, averaging a career-best 16.3 points (vs. his career average of 7.5 ppg) on 62.8 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 3.3 blocks, and just 0.8 turnovers in 23.8 minutes per contest.

The 30-year-old has played a key role for the Lakers, and team alpha dog LeBron James has definitely taken notice. McGee has been known to bring an infectious type of energy whenever he's on the floor, and it has been beneficial for the Lakers thus far.
For his part, James was not bad himself in his first ever win as a Laker, racking up 19 points, one three-pointer, seven rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and no turnovers in 28 minutes of game time.
LeBron and co. will hope to build on this impressive victory as they travel to Denver to face the undefeated Nuggets on Thursday. The game will be on the tail end of a back-to-back, so the Lakers will need to bring a lot of energy to the Mile High City if they wish to hand the Nuggets their first loss of the season.
