Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James missed Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a knee issue. Apparently, the swelling in his knee did not subside as expected, forcing him to sit out.
Fortunately, it doesn't look like James will have to sit out for long. As ClutchPoints' Lakers reporter Michael Corvo shared, Frank Vogel and the rest of the team are hopeful LeBron will be available to play on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets.
Vogel said the Lakers are "hopeful" LeBron will play in Houston on Wednesday.

In late January and early February, LeBron James missed five straight games for the Lakers because of the same issue. Considering his age and workload, it's not surprising the Lakers have been attentive on his health every game.
According to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, there was some expectation that James could miss a few games following the diagnosis of his knee swelling. With that said and Vogel's latest comments, it appears James is trending in the right direction when it comes to his recovery.

Vogel said the Lakers are hopeful that LeBron can play at Houston (Wednesday); they’ll see how his knee feels tomorrow and go from there.

James' health will be a major factor for the Lakers in the final stretch of the 2021-22 season. They are barely hanging onto the ninth seed in the West, and so they can't afford to lose more games with the threat of missing the postseason facing them.
And while it is not ideal, LeBron is the only one who can save the Lakers. After all, without his 56-point explosion against the Golden State Warriors the last timeout, they have probably dropped to the 10th seed now.
Hopefully,, LeBron's knee injury is not that serious and that he won't miss any more games after Monday. If not, the Lakers will surely have a hard time contending for a play-in spot.
