The Los Angeles Lakers had high expectations coming into this season, especially after signing arguably the best player in the league, LeBron James to a four-year deal. However, everything came crashing down for the franchise when the four-time MVP got injured back in December. From being the fourth best team in the West before James' groin injury, the Lakers have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Laker fans are obviously upset. After all, they thought LeBron would be able to carry the team the same way he did when he was with the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, he was unable to do that, and ‘Bron understands the disappointment from the Laker die-hards, saying that they have the right to feel that way.

Fans believe that LeBron's move to LA is more about his off-court ventures than him playing basketball. Since signing with the Lakers, James has launched his own TV show, a collaboration with rapper 2 Chainz, and several other projects. He's also set to star in Space Jam 2, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters next year.

However, LeBron continues to deny such allegations, reiterating that he came to the Lakers because he believes the team is focused on winning. He said he wouldn't have joined the team if he didn't believe in the vision of Magic Johnson, the team's President of Basketball Operations, and General Manager Rob Pelinka.

The Lakers are focused on bringing in another superstar to pair with James. They have enough cap space to bring in someone like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, or Kyrie Irving. But whether those guys are interested in joining the purple and gold remains to be seen.

One thing is for sure though, LeBron can't keep fighting Father Time forever. If the Lakers fail to execute their plans this summer, things could go from bad to worse.
