The Los Angeles Lakers have presented a brand new offer to the table for Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers are willing to trade their young guns plus two draft picks for Davis and Solomon Hill:

“The Lakers are presently offering the Pelicans a package that includes forwards Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, guard Lonzo Ball and two first-round picks – as well as a willingness to absorb the remaining $12.7M on Solomon Hill's contract in the 2019-20 season, league sources told ESPN.”

According to the report, Lakers president Magic Johnson was on the phone with Pelicans general manager Dell Demps multiple times on Monday. The Lakers seem to feel that the latest trade package they arranged for Davis is the best they have assembled so far in their pursuit of the Pelicans' superstar.

To recall, the Lakers had a chance to land Paul George over the summer but reports reveal that they did not even pursue the six-time All-Star. They also had a chance to arrange a trade package for Kawhi Leonard, who made it known that Los Angeles — preferably as part of the Lakers — is his destination of choice.

The Pelicans, for their part, have only received trade offers from the Lakers. The Boston Celtics — another team reportedly in search of another star player — are likely going to wait for Davis in the offseason.

They are one of the few teams who can offer a trade package to match the value of Davis. Apart from which, a Davis acquisition would likely trigger Kyrie Irving — who recently backpedaled on his promise to re-sign in the summer — to eventually fulfill his pledge.
