The Los Angeles Lakers are in a world of hurt right now. On Monday night, LeBron James and the rest of the squad got off to a troubling start against the visiting Toronto Raptors. At one point, the score was 22-2.
Unsurprisingly, the pitchforks came out again on the mean streets of Twitter and for his part, Boston Celtics icon Paul Pierce could not help but throw shade at the hapless Lakers:
“The spirit of the Lakers is broken Lebron gotta score 50 fa them to have a chance,” Pierce wrote on Twitter.

Well, Paul Pierce is not wrong here. I guess this just hurts even more for Lakers fans because of the fact that it came from an icon who played for their biggest rival in the league in the Celtics. Nevertheless, Pierce claiming that the Lakers are broken right now isn't far-fetched at all.
It's also a fact that LeBron James has to put up an insane number of points on the board for his Lakers to stand a chance. LA has won just two out of their nine games since the All-Star break and on both occasions, LeBron dropped a 50-piece. So actually, Pierce was being quite literal with his statement here.
We all know how LeBron can't score 50 a night so this leaves LA in a whole lot of trouble.
