The Los Angeles Lakers have had a crazy offseason. From the original big move to acquire Anthony Davis, to the waiting game for Kawhi Leonard that ended up being for nothing, the Lakers now have to add pieces around LeBron James and Davis. Rajon Rondo is a piece that they feel can help them moving forward.

According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers and Rondo have agreed to a new two-year contract.

Rondo played with the Lakers last season and had a very solid all-around year. He ended up averaging 9.2 points per game to go along with 8.0 assists and 5.4 rebounds. In addition to those numbers, Rondo shot 35.9 percent from the three-point line, which isn't too shabby.

Now, the Lakers can only hope that their roster depth can keep them ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers. Leonard chose to sign with the Clippers and soon after they went out and acquired Paul George. The “Battle for L.A.” is going to be entertaining, to say the least.

Los Angeles has made some solid moves since missing out on Leonard. They signed Danny Green, re-signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, signed DeMarcus Cousins, and now Rondo is coming back too.

Rob Pelinka is trying to build depth behind his two superstars and bringing Rondo back was a big step in the right direction.
