In only a few short days of training camp, newly-signed Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo has been surprised by LeBron James' leadership, now under a different light after playing alongside him.
āI played against him for 13 years now, but obviously I think what your hear versus what you see is a little bit different,ā said Rajon Rondo said after Sunday's 124-107 preseason loss to the Denver Nuggets, according to Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register.
āHe isn't who I thought he was, heās probably even a better leader, especially on the floor, telling everybody where to go and directing traffic. Iām so used to doing that myself, so itās kind of refreshing to me to not have to talk every possession down the floor because I have someone else doing the same thing that you can obviously trust.ā
Rondo has the edge over Lonzo Ball not only on experience but also being a complete floor general, while Ball only has the vision and playmaking skills to his favor, still lacking full command of the play-calling and the minute positional fixes that have to happen in every play.
Article Continues BelowJames, much like Rondo, has that down pat ā even telling opposing players where they should be on the floor during out of bounds plays.
Rondo and James are both incredibly cerebral players and therefore great leaders that have become endeared by their teammates over the course of their careers in the league.
Despite losing their first game of the LeBron James era, it's a sure thing to say that this roster won't be lacking any leadership, getting it from two experienced sources with immense basketball IQ.
