The Los Angeles Lakers have lost four in a row, after getting blown out of the water by the San Antonio Spurs, 138-110. The losing skid has once again generated concern for the purple and gold, much to the dismay of All-Star guard Russell Westbrook.

When asked about it after the game, Westbrook was brutally honest in his assessment of the Lakers' recent struggles.

Via Harrison Faigen:

“Four games ago we're 16-13 and fourth in the west,” said the Lakers guard. “I didn't hear none of these questions… So let's just be honest… there's a lot of things that have happened in the last week and a half.”

Things happening is right. The Los Angeles Lakers were fresh off a three-game winning streak and held home court advantage in the standings four games ago. But then Anthony Davis succumbed to yet another injury against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They've gone 0-4 since then with an average margin of defeat of -17.3 points per game.

On the other hand, injuries were basically a foregone conclusion for this Lakers side that's filled to the brim with aging veterans and an injury-prone AD. The Russell Westbrook addition was meant to help them overcome the games missed by both Davis and LeBron James.

LA will have to regroup fast as the Brooklyn Nets come into town on Christmas day.
