The biggest issue the Los Angeles Lakers need to face this offseason is the Russell Westbrook situation. The front office will definitely do its due diligence in terms of a potential trade for the former league MVP but at this point, this prospect isn't looking too good.

NBA insider Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype recently spoke with a number of executives from around the league and based on his intel, Westbrook's trade market value is not something the Lakers are going to like:

“Right now, his trade value is extremely negative,” the unnamed executive said. “All it takes, however, is one team to be desperate to add talent and have bad contracts to make it happen. The reality is that 95 percent of teams view that as a terrible contract right now. They’re not doing that unless they’re dumping a bunch of stuff.”

Westbrook is set to earn $47.1 million next season which is undeniably the biggest stumbling block in any potential trade. Not too many teams from around the league, if any, will be willing to take such a huge cap hit for a player like Westbrook.

By the looks of it, the Lakers could be stuck with Westbrook for next season.
