Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal was given the privilege of hosting the third annual NBA Awards Night, and the big fella didn't disappoint.
Shaq came prepared. He brought with him a ton of jokes that made the people in attendance laugh. He even made fun of the team he once led to three championships, the Los Angeles Lakers.
In front of an adoring audience, Shaquille O'Neal talked about the Lakers' blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans that netted Anthony Davis. At first, it seemed Shaquille O'Neal was going to give serious thoughts about the deal.
Shaq made fun of Lonzo and LaVar Ball in classic fashion.
The Lakers had to give away Lonzo in the trade, and of course, wherever he goes, his father goes. Now, the second overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft is with the Pelicans, which means that as good as Lonzo is, New Orleans will have to deal with his loudmouth father as well.

Lonzo has failed to live up to the hype his father created. Although he's been decent over the past two seasons, he was often injured and inconsistent. Zo turned from the Lakers' point guard of the future to the #FormerLaker very quickly.
Still, Lonzo will have a fresh start with the Pelicans. He would have wanted to stay in L.A., but he understands that the NBA is business. After all, the opportunity to play with the collegiate phenom Zion Williamson isn't so bad.
Let's just hope Ball doesn't end up making diss tracks once again.
Shaquille O'Neal doesn't need more material than he already has. He certainly knew how to dish out the zingers on the NBA's night for handing out hardware… and laughs.
