Everyone relax! Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James can now enter a cab thanks to some new NBA guidelines. And yes, the year is still 2021.

According to a Stadium reporter, the NBA and NBPA added updates to protocols for COVID-19. Here are the following updates:

Rideshares (Uber, etc.) and taxis allowed. No face shields (masks as normal people call them) in treatment sessions. For teams where 85% of players and staff were vaccinated: hot and cold tubs and steam rooms permitted for multiple people.

Up until I read the report, I honestly had no idea guys were not allowed to use an Uber together. Moreover, I had no earthly idea hailing a cab was something even considered as an option to millionaires in this day and age. Luckily for LeBron James, it's back to riding in the taxi, though, I guess?

Obviously, jokes aside, this is good news. As the United States (hopefully) continues to get vaccinated, all the optic-related rules being set — many of them feeling arbitrary in nature — will go away. I'll still never understand how/why NBA players were allowed to sweat and breathe all over each other on the court, but couldn't be in the same room together in the back, though.

Anyway, our national nightmare is over. LeBron James, get yourself a cab! The Lakers need you for the play-in games… I kid. I love you!
