Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins thinks it will be a “scary sight” for the Los Angeles Lakers to see Tyronn Lue serve as an assistant coach for city rivals Los Angeles Clippers.

According to reports, Lue will likely join the Clippers as an associate head coach. He was considered a top candidate for the Lakers' coaching job this offseason, but the two failed to reach a deal due to some of LA's terms. The Purple and Gold then decided to hire Frank Vogel.
The Clippers are starting to worry a lot of Lakers fans, as they are slowly but surely assembling a team that has a legitimate shot at winning the NBA championship. Although the Lakers are still a powerhouse team next season, their Staples Center co-tenants are set to share the spotlight with them next season.
Article Continues BelowLue was the former head coach of Lakers superstar LeBron James. They both led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a historic run in 2016 when they defeated the Golden State Warriors and took the Larry O'Brien trophy after going down to a 3-1 series deficit.
The Lakers had a shot at Lue a couple of months ago, but they didn't want to commit to Lue long-term and offered him a three-year deal instead of the five-year contract he wanted. The champion coach also didn't like the fact that the team is insisting to hire Jason Kidd as his top assistant.
There's no official announcement yet about Lue's hiring by the Clippers, but should it push through, the Lakers certainly won't like it.
