Many consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest player of all time. Most of these folks believe that MJ would have been an unstoppable force even in today's NBA. Count Metta World Peace as one of the firm believers in this notion.
On a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay, Metta explained exactly why he believes Jordan would have easily averaged 50 points in today's LeBron James-led NBA era:
Article Continues Below“I was at the Jordan era,” Artest explained, via Peter Dewey of Lakers Nation. “I was in the LeBron [James], Kobe [Bryant], [Tim] Duncan, and I was at the tail end. I’ve played with these guys. I’ve seen all the 3-point balls go up.
“Jordan would average 50.”
As he described in his statement above, World Peace has had the privilege to play alongside a number of all-time greats throughout his colorful career. He was a young up-and-comer during the tail end of Jordan's prime in the late 1990's. Metta also won a championship with Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant, and he also had the chance to experience LeBron's rise to fame.
Based on what he witnessed through his many years in the NBA, one thing is clear for Metta World Peace — that Michael Jordan is the very best of them. In his mind, MWP firmly believes that MJ could have easily dominated today's NBA “if he wanted to.”
Metta World Peace has said and done many things in the past that have been rather contentious, but this particular statement actually makes a lot of sense.
