Toronto Raptors All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry says he appreciates the support he received from Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James on Thursday.

Lowry was shoved by Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday. James called for swift action from the NBA towards Stevens. Lowry says he texted with James and respects LeBron for always speaking up for others.

“The one thing about Bron is he’s always been an activist,” Lowry said, via LeBron Wire. “He’s unbelievable with this. I sent a text message to him, he sent one back and I thanked him. He’s one of the biggest athletes and most vocal guys that we have out there. His social activism has been amazing and he sticks up for his fellow players. He always does the right thing. He’s been doing the right thing his whole career and it means a lot.”
