Almost a year removed from his historic final game, Kobe Bryant is now set to return to the Los Angeles Lakers’ fold.

He won’t be tying up the laces and putting up those signature Black Mamba moves on the court though. This time around, Bryant will bring his coat and tie to Laker games as the future Hall of Famer will be imparting his knowledge to the team’s youngsters.

Per team report, Kobe Bryant has agreed to become the Lakers’ assistant coach. The best part is he’s in for the long haul as Bryant’s deal is believed to be for three years.

This speaks tremendously of his commitment to the organization that made him who he is today — a revered basketball icon. Bryant will begin his new duties come summertime and the Lakers' young guns are sure to be in for a memorable offseason.

It’s crazy to imagine but it is happening. Kobe Bryant, five-time champion and former MVP, will now be backing up Luke Walton on Los Angeles’ bench.

But as everyone have learned every year, anything can happen on April 1st.
