Orlando Magic rising star power forward Aaron Gordon, who will be inactive for tonight's road game against the Atlanta Hawks, was immediately placed in the team's concussion protocol Friday night when he collided with Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris during the Magic's 103-89 loss.

According to a couple of tweets last night from writer John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com, Gordon's teammate in center Nikola Vucevic immediately knew the severity of the situation.

Vucevic, who has had two concussions in his NBA career, opened up to Denton about concussions following the game against the Nuggets.

“As soon as I saw him, I told him to take his time,” Vucevic said of Gordon's injury. “When it comes to an ankle, a shoulder or knee, you can play through it. With a concussion, you don’t play through that. That’s not something you wanna mess with because that’s your brain. I told him to make sure he’s 100 percent before coming back.”

The Magic, who fell to 11-16 with their home loss to the Nuggets on Friday night, will be without four of their key players tonight against the Hawks as Gordon, small forward Evan Fournier (ankle), power forward Jonathan Isaac (ankle) and small forward Terrence Ross (knee). Gordon currently leads the Magic in scoring with 18.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in 33.7 minutes of action per contest.
