Dallas Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. is feeling confident in his team right now. So confident in fact, that he thinks the Mavs are currently the “hottest team” in the NBA, according to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com.

The 13-25 Mavericks are not expected to compete for even a playoff spot this season, as they own one of the worst records in the league. That being said, the Mavericks have been having success lately. Thanks to hot offensive shooting, the Mavericks have taken down each of their last four opponents. And they did not just beat low-quality teams in that span, winning three of those games on the road against the likes of the Indiana Pacers, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Article Continues BelowOver that four-game stretch, the Mavs have shot 50.0 percent from the field and knocked down an average of 12.8 3-pointers on 40.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Their four-team win streak is the longest active as of this writing.
Even that kind of shooting prowess, however, may not be enough to take down the Warriors. Golden State is the best when it comes to serving other teams with a dose of reality check, and Smith and the Mavericks could be in for a rude awakening this Wednesday at home against the defending NBA champions.
