Ever since Kevin Durant decided to join the Golden State Warriors in 2016, he has become one of the most hated players in the NBA. It seems that not only have the Thunder trolled him in every game he played against them, other NBA fans have joined the fray and are viciously trolling Kevin Durant wherever he goes. This even includes Dallas Mavericks fans.
On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors battled the Dallas Mavericks on the road. As Durant stepped up to the scorer's table to get back into the game, his attention was gathered by a young Mavericks fan. The exchange wasn't one that Durant was expecting.
Kid wearing a #35 jersey stands up, reveals to Kevin Durant (as he's walking to scorer's table) that name says 'Snake'. KD just gave him a 'really?' look with arms up. Fan smiles and asks him to 'Tweet it.'

The thought that went into this charade proves that Durant is hated no matter where he goes. The nickname, “Snake” was given to the 2014 KIA MVP when he supposedly back-stabbed the Thunder by suiting up to play with a championship rival team. The fan also responded by saying, “Tweet it.” This is reminiscent of Durant's constant use of Twitter to clap back at negative fans, and casually responding on his behalf using a second Twitter account.
Nonetheless, Durant has seemed to quiet the naysayers on the court, winning his first championship in June and becoming the Finals MVP in the process. The fan also did little to deter the former MVP. Kevin Durant swiftly recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks as the Warriors beat the Mavericks with a game-winning three-pointer by Stephen Curry.
Maybe the fan's interaction was the extra motivation that Durant needed to help put the Mavericks away for good down the final stretch of the fourth quarter.
