Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens says it's a joke that Memphis Grizzlies starting point guard Mike Conley has never made an All-Star team in his NBA career.
Conley is in his 12th season in the league and has career averages of 14.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists.
Brad Stevens today called it “a joke” that Mike Conley has never made an All-Star team.
“He's just a winner, and that's all that really has ever mattered to him.”

Mike Conley is a great player and one of the most underrated point guards in the game. However, the guard position in the Western Conference is stacked every single season, making it hard for a guy like Conley to make an All-Star team.

Let's take the 2014 All-Star team as an example. That season, Conley was averaging around 17.0 points per game before the voting process started. Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, James Harden and Tony Parker were the guards who made the team over Conley.
After only playing in 12 games last season due to a heel injury, Mike Conley has returned this year and is playing high level basketball again. The 31-year-old is averaging 20.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game and shooting 42.0 percent overall, 35.9 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.
It's going to be tough once again for Conley to make the All-Star team this season. Guys like Curry, Harden and Russell Westbrook are going to garner more votes.
